The Cottage at The Retreat is situated in the market town of Leek, known as The Queen of The Moorlands.

Market day is on Wednesday and is very popular with visitors. Leek also boasts a wonderful and diverse array of beautiful shops, in particular, antique and bric-a-brac which are open all week and well worth a visit.

The cottage is very close to the tranquillity of the countryside yet convenient for several large towns. Hanley 5 miles, Newcastle-under-Lyme 8 miles, Stafford 20 miles.

Leek is within easy travelling distance of many scenic rural locations including the Peak District, whilst remaining convenient for retail shopping and leisure facilities of the local towns of Hanley and Newcastle-under-Lyme. 

Stoke on Trent is known as The Potteries, with famous names such as Wedgwood and Royal Doulton in the local area.  Factory shops and tours of the factories are favourite tourist destinations.

Alton Towers is very near to Leek and the cottage is ideally situated for families planning to visit.
